I imagine John Roberts is going to have the biggest grin on his face when it does
It will get bogged down in court for years to come. This thing has only begun.
It will be thrown away like the piece of trash it is.
hmm
Nothing….Democrats had a year to make sure it would pass.
The AG is an Obama hack. He won’t do anything.
One of two things. Either the Supreme Court agrees with them and declares it unconstitutional, or there will be a lot of pressure from within the states to separate from the union.
If it’s found Constitutional to force people to buy something they don’t want, and determine how much of it they MUST buy by law (e.g., force you to pay higher premiums based on your politically incorrect lifestyle), then it’s no longer worth preserving the union.
The next peaceful step would be the dissolution of the union.
All of the viable objectionable parts are being taken out (special benefit to Nebraska and Louisiana) which were really the only viable Constitutional challenge. Really don’t see a legal challenge going very far.
Nothing really. there has never been a bill like this passed, not to mention put before the Supreme Court. the bills that could be considered ‘precedent’ like SS, Medicare, have never even reached the Supreme Court on terms of validity, so this likely won’t either.
at the most, if anything becomes questioned or proven unconstitutional, it would be forced healthcare.
The Dems are on the cusps of winning – for the moment. At best it can be described as a Pyrrhic Victory that will end up – not only being a fiscal nightmare – but will also fracture the country and create a division. This health care insurance reform bill should be challenged in the courts as it tramples states’ rights and forces Americans to buy health insurance. The law suits will be filed and will probably go to the Supreme Court. Obama may regret his derision of them during his SOTU address.
the mandates will be tossed out
nada. zip. squat. nothing.
well, the public option part of the bill got left out. I suppose that the only thing that could happen is that the states involved may win the right to pass local legislation that would allow them to administer healthcare as they see fit. but If you know anything about big government, you know that this is probably not going to happen. if this bill passes, it’s going to be the law of the land. tough patootie.
